Elderly people can also maintain their independence for longer by staying active. Keeping moving is one of the most important ways to reduce the risk of falling. Medisch Contact (trade magazine for doctors) indicates that Dutch elderly people sit more than 10 hours a day. More than any other age group. So time to get moving! This can be done by going to the gym, playing walking football or cycling. Walking, housework or gardening are also good forms of exercise.
