The municipality of Wassenaar has started preparations for the Growing up in a Promising Environment programme, in short: OKO. Together with the Trimbos Institute, the municipality will work to prevent the use of alcohol, drugs and tobacco among young people as much as possible. Substance use among young people is considerably higher in Wassenaar than in the rest of the region and is not decreasing. By creating a healthy living environment for young people, substance use can be prevented and young people can develop favorably.<\/p>\n
OKO focuses on four domains: family, school, circle of friends and free time. The municipality also works with the GGD and Indigo Haaglanden and the municipality wants to actively collaborate with local partners, such as social organizations, associations and with parents and volunteers. Together with young people, parents, social partners, professionals and volunteers, we look forward to an inspiringstarting meeting on Thursday evening, September 19<\/strong>.
