Quitting smoking is not easy. Most smokers make several quit attempts before they are able to quit smoking for good. Good guidance when quitting smoking helps. For example, you can go to Rookvrij en Fitter. Rookvrij en Fitter organizes the Fresh Air Walk Wassenaar from Fit in Wassenaar. The walking group departs from Het Sterrenbad every Monday evening at 7 p.m. During the walk you can talk about everything to do with (quitting) smoking, but also about other things. No registration is required and participation is free.
Smokers who want to participate in Stoptober, the 28-day non-smoking journey, can register at www.stoptober.nl. Research shows that 70% of people who participate in Stoptober manage to not smoke for 28 days. Nearly half of all participants have still quit three months later. 28 days is just long enough to experience the positive effects of quitting smoking. And most of the withdrawal symptoms are then behind you.
