Motor Skills Week

06/11/2023

Knowledge Center Sports & Exercise is once again organizing Motor Skills Week to draw attention to the importance of sports and exercise. This year in the week of November 6. There are various interesting webinars to follow.

According to the latest figures from CBS and RIVM, only 44% of the Dutch population aged 4 years or older met the exercise guidelines in 2022. That is why November 6 to 9 is all about: Encouraging lifelong sports and exercise. Sufficient exercise is important for everyone, from young to old. Young children need sufficient and varied exercise for healthy development. In adults, exercise helps keep us fit and healthy and help us age with vitality, physically and mentally.

A hot topic and was in the newspaper last weekend.
“A country where half a million children are overweight. Where half of the population hardly ever exercises or plays sports. And for that reason alone, 5,800 people die every year. That country is the Netherlands.”
