In Wassenaar we believe it is important that every child gets the best possible start in life. The first 1000 days – before, during and after pregnancy – have a major influence on the health and development of a child. A good start reduces the risk of later health problems such as cardiovascular disease, obesity and mental challenges. That is why various local organizations are joining forces within the national Kansrijke Start program, which focuses on these first 1000 days.
