Wassenaar is organizing a unique event during the Children’s Book Week. This festival “Full of adventure” is specially aimed at (prospective) parents and children up to 4 years old, where it is about meeting, exchanging information and having a fun time with your child. The festival offers a nice combination of educational workshops for parents while children can at the same time participate in reading, toddler gym and parent-child activities. This special festival is an initiative of Fit in Wassenaar in collaboration with the Wassenaar library, the Kansrijke Start coalition and the municipality of Wassenaar.

Het (aanstaande) ouderschap is een reis vol verrassingen, ontdekkingen en groei. Geen dag is hetzelfde en elke fase brengt nieuwe uitdagingen én mooie momenten met zich mee. Gelukkig hoef je dit als ouder/verzorger niet alleen te doen. Samen met andere ouders, familie, professionals en betrokkenen kun je ervaringen delen, elkaar inspireren en ondersteunen. In Wassenaar vinden we het belangrijk dat ieder kind de best mogelijke start krijgt in het leven.
Best Start in Life
Een ‘Kansrijke Start’ is van grote invloed op the health and development of a child. That is why local organizations are joining forces in the local coalition Kansrijke Start. Kansrijke Start is also being continued within the municipality of Wassenaar in the Growing Up in a Promising Environment (OKO) programme, in which everyone in the municipality works together to create a positive environment for young people to grow up in. This week is aimed at increasing awareness about the importance of a healthy pregnancy for future parents. During the festival, professionals from the local Kansrijke Start coalition will offer practical support. Activities for parent and child
. Various partners from the Kansrijke Start coalition will be present and parents can simply join in. The children can have their picture taken with ‘De Boekstart Beer’, there is a coffee corner for the (expectant) parents, there is something (healthy) to snack on and there are food and changing facilities.
