Informal Care

Informal care is care that you provide to family members or friends who are ill. You do this without being paid for it. In Wassenaar, 13.7% of people provided informal care in 2022. Across the Netherlands, this figure was 11.2%.

Informal carers are very important, but they also need support themselves. We want to help informal carers with their important work.

Working together: We collaborate with GPs, Social Team Wassenaar and Stichting Maatschappelijke Ondersteuning Wassenaar.

Targeted support: We identify which support works best for our municipality and implement it.

Collaborating with other municipalities: We look at other municipalities to learn how they handle topics such as informal care, respite care and dementia.
